Year 11 Update: Exams & Study Leave

Please find below the communications sent to Year 11 students this evening. Please read it carefully as it details plans for study leave.

Students will only be allowed to go on study leave from Friday 23 May if the form found here is completed with your permission.

Copy Communication to Year 11 Students on 22/05/25

I hope you had a good day? Thanks to the staff involved with the warm ups, and supervision of year 10 and year 11 students today. I hope that those of you who did the RS and Enterprise exams found it ok? Well done to those of you who had to do both exams this afternoon. The invigilators were very complementary about your efforts.

As you can see from the below, we have tweaked the programme for year 11 students for the remainder of this week, with the view that from Friday you will be going on study leave. I am putting together a timetable for the weeks after half term which I intend to issue to you on Friday after your English Language exam. This will include warm ups on the days of exams, and sessions where staff will be expecting you in during the run up to the exams. You will be given the opportunity to come in for supervised study in the LRC in addition to these sessions. Your parents will need to sign a Microsoft form that I am sending to them shortly to give you permission to go on study leave from 23 May. Mr Higgon has already emailed them to explain the early finish tomorrow and outlining that if you need to be in school we are happy to arrange supervised study sessions for you.

Tomorrow, you will be leaving tomorrow period 3 after an English masterclass. On Friday, they will be able to leave after the English Language exam. This is only when your parents have responded to the Microsoft form.

 

Exams on Thursday 22 May

Tomorrow, we have a Science exam in the morning. Mr Russell will be leading a warm up for this in the main hall. The exam will be from 9.00-10.15 for the combined students (144), and 9.00-10.45 for the triple students (55). At the end of the exam, students will come to the food hall for early break. You will then have an English masterclass with members of the English team, before leaving the academy at 12.20.
