Sent to parents and carers on 4/04/2025
Weekly Bulletin for Friday 4/04/2025
Thank you to those parents and carers who attended last night’s Year 10 parents/carers evening, an important opportunity to discuss their progress, areas for development as they approach Year 11 and start to think about where they would like to do during Years 12 and 13.
This week’s Principal’s Commendations have been awarded to the following students:
- Churchill: Alyssa H (for being an overall good student and for helping with the Y10 parents evening)
- Ennis: Chloe C (for her amazing help with the girls group. Planning things for them to do and supporting less confident students)
- Nightingale: Jaymee B (for always going that extra mile and representing Nightingale in a positive light at parents’ evening)
- Ramsey: Soloman M (for consistently good behaviour and attitude to school)
As we draw to the end of a very busy term I would like to wish all members of our community a happy and restful break. I hope you get to spend time doing things you enjoy with people who are important to you.
Uniform: Jumpers Optional
Due to the warmer weather we are currently experiencing, jumpers are no longer compulsory around the academy. Students are still expected to wear their blazers and have their shirts tucked in. Students may ask their teachers for permission to remove their blazers if they are hot in a lesson.
Easter Egg Raffle
£200 was raised in aid of the Hop to it! Campaign and the winners of the Easter Egg raffle were invited to collect them from Miss Feakes this morning during tutor time.
Year 11 Easter Revision Sessions
Mr Hawkes has sent students a copy of the Easter revision session timetable. You can view a copy of it here:
Y11 Revision Timetable Easter 2025 Wk1
Y11 Revision Timetable Easter 2025 Wk2
Students do not need to wear their academy uniform for the revision sessions and will need to bring their own food and drinks as the food hall will be closed over the holiday.
Student Absence
Please ensure if your child is absent from the academy, that you have notified the attendance office at the earliest opportunity on each day they are not going to be in school, in order to prevent the automated text messages being sent or absence calls being made to parents/carers – these commence from 8.35am each day.
The ways in which you can contact the academy to inform us of student absence can be found on our website here.
