Y10 Residential Trip to the Battlefields – July 2025

Y10 GCSE History Classes 10A/10B/10C1/10C2/10D

Firstly, I would like to apologise for the ongoing confusion and issues that we have had this year with the Battlefields trip. The Trust finance team have had multiple challenges this year in regards to MCAS and trip organising that have stopped them from being able to make the trip payments go live on time. I have been in daily contact with them, but been unable to resolve certain issues. I also want to thank all of the parents and students who have reached out for their patience and understanding.

As a solution this year we will not be doing a ‘draw’ to allocate places. It will instead be 40 places, on a first come, first served basis. This is now live on MCAS, a deposit of £80 is payable by 30 September on MCAS to secure a place. All future instalments will be via MCAS. We regret that we cannot accept cash payments at school. Please do not make payment on your child’s lunch money account as it is not transferrable.

Parental consent will be sent separately by email via our trip management system, Evolve.

In the eventuality that the trip is over subscribed and no places are available, please email me directly at Anthony.Archer@attrust.org.uk and I will build a waiting list for places. If anybody at a later date withdraws from the trip I will then use this waiting list to fill spaces.

As in the previous letter, you should also be aware that the academy reserves the right to withdraw a place on the trip for any student whose attitude, attendance, behaviour, conduct or punctuality falls below the standard we expect and require of our students.

Payment is required in full before the trip departs. Instalments will be due as follows:

£80 30 Sep 2024 (deposit)
£80 30 November 2024
£70 31 January 2025
£60 30 March 2025
£67 3 May 2025 (balance)
£357 Total Sum Payable pp in full

If you have any further questions with regards to the trip, please do not hesitate to contact me at the school. If your child has any questions, they are very welcome to speak to me in school or any of my colleagues in the History department. We very much hope that your child is able to come on the trip as it is an excellent programme and they will find it very educationally rewarding.

Regards

Mr A Archer
