To the Class of 2025!

Well done you have made it! No more exams and hopefully you can enjoy an extended holiday.

We trust you enjoyed your leavers assembly on Wednesday. We were incredibly proud of the positive atmosphere that you all contributed to. Mr Hawkes genuinely meant it when he said that ‘you are the best group of young people he has had the privilege to work with’ and that he is proud of each and every one of you. Remember, we are always here for you, so come back and let us know how you are getting on! If you need any help on your journey post-Westbourne, or if you need a reference, then feel free to get in touch with Mr Hawkes or Mr Payne.

We hope you can reflect on the exams season and your time at Westbourne knowing that you have done your best and we wish you all the very best in whatever you aim to do over the coming months.

Remember the advice that Mr Hawkes gave you in the assembly, which always served him well:

  • Try and get a good night’s sleep and live healthily. It helps both your physical and mental health.
  • Find someone to talk to, it will help you feel better and that you are sharing the challenge.
  • Make time for others, listening is often more important than talking, get to know them, and how they like their tea!
  • Your thoughts are like boomerangs. What you give out or pass on is what you will get back. Remember to treat people with respect.
  • The journey of your success will always begin with one small step Colonel Sir Tom Moore showed this at the start of the pandemic, but it is so true for your working and personal life.
  • Your education is never complete.Ensure you live life fully and continually learn. Prepare for what life has to teach by being open to the lessons in everything you do and experience.
  • Finally believe in yourself and don’t let anyone put you down. You have the potential to excel in whatever you do. Continue to hurdle barriers life may throw at you and show the resilience you all displayed through the pandemic and your time at Westbourne.  Each and every one of you are awesome and I believe you will all go on to be successful in life.

We look forward to seeing you all again at Prom on 27 June and on exam results day on 21 August.

Take care. Stay safe.
