School Games Discovery Sailing
Thursday 5 June 2025
I am pleased to offer your child the opportunity to attend a Discovery Sailing afternoon at Levington Marina on Thursday 5 June. My colleagues, Miss Allan and Miss Goodchild, will accompanying students on the day.
Below is their itinerary for the day:
8:15-8:25 Arrive at school in their PE kit
8:30 Attend tutor time as normal
8:55 Attend lesson 1 as normal
9:55 Attend lesson 2 as normal
10:55 Break time as normal
11:20 Lesson 3 – students should report to Miss Allan in the Fitness Suite
11:30 Students leave school by minibus with Miss Allan and Miss Goodchild
12:00 Arrival at Levington Marina and students eat their lunch
12:30 Sailing experience on the river with qualified coaches and instructors
14:30 Depart from the marina for return trip back to school in the minibus
15:00 Arrive back at school and students dismissed as normal
Students will need to:
- wear their PE kit and trainers to school
- bring an appropriate packed lunch and water to drink
- bring a back-pack in which to store their personal belongings as they cannot leave anything on the minibus or at the marina
- bring a waterproof jacket to wear on the boat as the wind can be cooler on the water than on the land
- bring sunscreen and a hat if the weather is sunny
This visit is fully covered by the academy’s insurance policy. Qualified first aiders will be on hand at the venue. Any valuables brought on school trips (such as mobile devices/headphones etc (remain the sole responsibility of the student and any resulting loss or damage is not covered by the academy.
Visits play an important part in the learning of our students and we understand the financial demands placed on parents resulting from our school activities. There is no cost to parents or carers as associated costs have been funded in full by the academy and the School Games organisation.
To give permission for your child to attend this trip, please email evie.allan@attrust.org.uk by 10am on Monday 2 June 2025. At the same time, you will need to advise us of any prescribed medication your child needs to take with them on the day such as inhalers etc.
