Introduction to Head of Year 10 & Assistant Head of Year
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as your child’s new Head of Year and Mr Carr as the Assistant Head of Year 10.
As I am sure you are aware there have been a number of changes at the academy lately, with the main driving focus on improving behaviour and therefore the classroom experience for all of our students.
To support these changes, I would like to emphasise my desire to ensure that each student in the year group not only achieves academically but also becomes a valued and positive member of the academy community.
Over the course of the next half term, I intend to meet with as many of the year group as possible to hopefully enlist them in this venture and gain their viewpoint of what else could be done to help with this pathway to improvement. As they move into their final year of the school, it is imperative that we all remain focused on setting the bar high for their Post-16 education.
I would also like to extend this offer to yourselves and would welcome the opportunity to meet to discuss any concerns or comments you have which might support our improvement. If you would like to take up this offer, then please contact me at school and I will endeavour to organise a time convenient to both of us. Alternatively, I would also welcome any comments you might have via email.
Below is a list of the respective Year 10 tutor groups as well as their Principal Tutors and tutor bases. Staff who will be acting as Associate Tutors for Year 10 are currently being assigned to tutor groups for the next half term and this information will follow as and when it is confirmed
Mr Carr and I look forward to working with you to ensure that your child has a successful year and future at Westbourne.
Regards
Mr D Payne
