Rewards Trip Eligibility for Year 11 Students

I hope you and your families have all had a good start to 2026.

It is a very important year for our students in Year 11 and hopefully the springboard for a successful and enjoyable future with their Post 16 studies.

With that in mind we are once again aiming to reward those students who show commitment to their studies and adopt a positive approach to their behaviour and attendance at the academy.

Towards the end of this term, we will be offering a rewards trip (to be chosen by the student body) for those that meet the following criteria:

  • 90% Attendance or better (individual cases will be considered)
  • no more than 2 lates to school in a fortnight
  • no more than 2 lates to lessons in a fortnight
  • net zero balance or better of Positive/Negative behaviour events
  • no external suspensions

Whilst I appreciate that, for a number of students, this will mean they are unlikely to be included, I also feel that it is important to understand how our own behaviour and attitudes can and do have an impact on future opportunities.

We would be doing our students a disservice if we were to send a message that poor behaviour and attendance is acceptable.

This will also have an impact on attending the Prom in the summer term as sadly, those students who continually ignore the academy rules and show no progress with their attendance, behaviour or attitude will not be allowed to attend this event either.

We would really appreciate your help in having a conversation with your child to further reinforce and encourage a final push on personal development and improvement throughout these last few, and all-important, months.

Many thanks for your continued support. Please do contact me by email if you have any concerns or questions regarding these events. I will respond at my earliest opportunity.

Kind regards

Mr D Payne
