Year 10 Computer Science Trip to BT Group Work Insight Day (Software-Focused) Event
Date: Thursday 8 January 2026
This trip will provide an opportunity for students to discover more about how technology plans to meet the challenges caused by the need to foster and develop a more sustainable world and to find out more about some of the latest technologies and explore how they’re used in the real world.
I hope that this experience will bring what they have been learning to life and provide them with relevant examples. As the trip is leaving in the morning, students will not need to wear their academy uniform to school. Students should still be appropriately dressed for this trip as they are ambassadors for the academy and will be in a business environment ie no crop tops, sleeveless tops or ripped jeans.
We will be travelling by minibus, departing the academy at 09:00. We will depart from BT Martlesham at 15:00 by minibus and anticipate arriving back at the academy at approximately 15:30.
Arrangements will therefore need to be made for collecting your child at that time unless they are allowed to make their own way home from school. Below is our itinerary for this activity.

Students may bring their mobile phones to communicate with parents/carers on the return journey and to take photographs at the studio. Any personal effects or valuables brought to school or brought on trips remain the responsibility of students if they are lost, stolen or damaged.
Any student who would normally receive a free school meal will be provided with a packed lunch on the day provided this is ordered in advance. Parents/carers will need to request a packed lunch from me in advance by emailing jonathan.burrows@attrust.org.uk. This visit is fully covered by the academy’s insurance policy for educational visits and journeys (Department for Education).
To give consent for your child to participate, please look out for a separate email from our trip management system, Evolve. Please check your junk and spam inboxes over the next week or so.
If you have any questions with regards to the trip, please do not hesitate to contact me at school.
