Reminder: Appropriate Footwear for PE Lessons

As we begin the new school year, we would like to remind all students of the importance of bringing appropriate footwear for PE lessons.

Students should attend PE with a pair of trainers suitable for physical activity. Trainers provide the support, grip and comfort needed to participate safely and fully in lessons. They also help to reduce the risk of injury during exercise and sports activities.

We have noticed that some students are attending PE lessons wearing their new school shoes instead of trainers. School shoes are not designed for sporting activities and can quickly become damaged through running, jumping and outdoor activities. We are keen to help families protect their investment in new uniform items and avoid unnecessary wear and tear on school shoes.

To ensure students can take part safely and comfortably, please encourage your child to bring their PE kit, including trainers, on the days they have PE. Students who do not have appropriate footwear may be unable to fully participate in certain activities.

If there are any issues with having a pair of trainers, please contact me or the relevant Assistant Head of Year for further support.

Thank you for your support in helping us maintain high standards of safety, participation, and preparedness in PE lessons.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding PE kit requirements, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Kind regards
