Music Tuition – Autumn Term 2026

At Westbourne Academy we take a great pride in the achievements of our musicians and the excellent facilities and provision on offer to support them. In addition to the practical benefits of learning a musical instrument, we are passionate about the social and character-building aspects of music and all the experiences, fun and friendships that it provides.

We offer instrumental tuition with specialist teachers for:

  • drum kit
  • guitar
  • bass guitar
  • vocals
  • keyboard

To demonstrate our commitment to our performers, we continue to subsidise lesson costs to offer a reduced rate. This brings lessons to the cost of £40 per term. For GCSE music students, this cost is fully absorbed by the academy. Students who are eligible for free school meals and certain pupil premium status can also receive lessons at no cost.

Payments can be made through your child’s MCAS account. They will appear as an option once we have confirmed the lesson arrangements with you, assuming your child is interested. If you do not have an active MCAS account please email wes-data@attrust.org.uk.

We appreciate that the current cost of living is unusually high and Westbourne Academy is determined to ensure that no child that wishes to benefit from lessons should miss out on financial grounds, so please bring any hardship issues to our attention.

To allow the smooth operation and organisation of lessons and staff payment, we require at least a term’s notice if students wish to discontinue lessons. We also require that students be organised and responsible for checking their lesson times, are prompt for their lessons and come prepared.

Please complete the MS Form link below to confirm whether your child wishes to continue, start or stop music lessons in the Autumn term. The deadline for submission is Wednesday 9 September with a view to lessons starting week commencing Monday 14 of September.
