Full School Uniform Expectations: Effective Monday 14 September

We are writing to remind all parents/carers and pupils that, from Monday 14 September, all students are expected to always attend Westbourne Academy in full school uniform.

This includes all required uniform items:

  • Correct school shoes (No trainers)
  • School tie (worn correctly)
  • Top buttons to be done up
  • Westbourne Academy School blazer
  • Correct school trousers: Charcoal Grey
  • Equipment: Minimum black pen, pencil, rule, purple pen and Yondr pouch (students will display these to staff in morning line-ups)

The academy has provided adequate time for all students and families to ensure that they have the correct uniform purchased and that it is being worn at all times. This timeframe has now come to an end and the expectation is that every student arrives at the academy in full uniform. This will be checked by Senior Leaders at the student entrance gates on Monday morning.

If a student arrives without the correct uniform, they will be expected to borrow the appropriate uniform where available or otherwise rectify the uniform issue immediately.

Where a student refuses or fails to borrow the required uniform, or continues to wear incorrect uniform they will be placed into Internal Suspension for the remainder of the school day.

We appreciate your support in ensuring that your child is dressed in the correct uniform. Consistent adherence to our uniform expectations is important in maintaining the very highest of standards and a positive and equal learning environment for all pupils.

Kind regards

Mr M Higgon

Principal
