Footwear Expectations from September
Due to national legislation changes regarding school uniforms, jumpers will be an optional piece of uniform from September 2026.
Furthermore, as part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining high standards and a strong sense of community, we are updating our expectations around school footwear. From the start of September, all students will be required to wear plain black leather (or leather-look) shoes. We will no longer allow black trainers, including styles such as Nike Air Force 1s, as acceptable alternatives. We appreciate that black trainers have become increasingly popular and are often marketed as suitable for school.
Please follow the link below to read clarification and guidance about our footwear expectations for students from September.
The following features are NOT permitted, regardless of brand:
- Visible logos, ticks, stripes or branding in any colour
- White soles, coloured soles, or contrasting trims
- Reflective panels or decorative features
- Sports shoe styling or trainer soles
- Contrasting stitching, including yellow stitching
If you are unsure whether a particular pair of shoes meets our expectations, please take a photo and send it to wes-office@attrust.org.uk marked for the attention of Mrs C Clarke.
Thank you for your support in maintaining high standards of presentation and uniform across the school community.
Kind regards
Mr D Payne
Head of Year 7 for September 2026
