Sent to parents and carers of eligible Year 11 students on 11/03/26

Year 11 Rewards Trips: Wednesday 25 March 2026

I am pleased to invite your child to join us for a trip to Lakeside shopping on the above date.

When deciding on who will be going to on the trip, we have consulted with staff and considered attendance (discounting medical appointments), punctuality, behaviour, commitment to their studies and attitude in tutor time or interventions.

We have subsidised the transportation cost of the trip to Lakeside and there is no cost involved. We expect demand for the trip to be high. There are a limited number of coach places available. If your child wishes to go, it will be on a first come first served basis.

Shopping at Lakeside Wednesday 25 March Itinerary

  • Arrive at school at 7:30am for pre-trip registration and checks
  • Depart by coach from Westbourne at 08:00am
  • Return to school approximately 17:00 subject to the prevailing traffic.
  • No cost to parents.

Students will need to bring their own spending money for food and drink and shopping. We are not providing FSM packed lunches as this is a rewards trip. There is a maximum number of places for this trip so please complete the permission form as soon as possible.

Students can wear their own clothing appropriate for a school trip and the weather. Comfortable footwear is essential and a back pack and waterproof coat may be useful. Students may bring their phones; however, the academy is not responsible for loss or damage to personal effects or valuables on school trips.

Whilst your child has been invited to this rewards event, we reserve the right to withdraw their invitation if we feel that serious concerns have arisen over their attitude, attendance to exams, behaviour, conduct or effort prior to the event, either inside or outside school.

All students not attending this trip will need to attend the academy as normal on Wednesday 25 March.

You will receive a separate email from Evolve, our trip management system. This is where you will give parent consent for them to attend this trip and secure their space.

If you or your child has any further questions with regards to the trip, please do not hesitate to contact me at school. May I thank your child for all of their efforts over the past few months and for their contribution towards making this year group such an enjoyable one to work with.

Regards

Mr D Payne
