New Youth Club – The CHOOK Club

“With the elimination of youth club programmes, children’s sense of self-worth, performance, and identity has eroded significantly, making them more prone to drug and gang culture, as well as educational exclusion. Youth Club provisions have a unique role and one that should be valued and supported as they can make a big difference in the lives of many underprivileged, vulnerable & disadvantaged children & young people and their communities.”

The CHOOK Club is a new youth club provision that can provide the warm, safe, friendly space for children & young people to express themselves, feel and be inclusive to each other, and make informed life decisions becoming successful and confident adults of the future. The club is located at Castle Hill Community Centre.

They aim to continue developing children and young people’s learning, continue to build up and serve the local community, provide activities and coach life skills that are meaningful, relevant, transparent and accountable.

Their clubs’ main initiative seeks to enhance the life chances of young people within and surrounding the North West Ipswich borough, deter them from crime and antisocial behaviour, and increase their resilience, opportunities and life choices.
