Miss McCollin Braves the Shave
Science Teacher, Miss McCollin, hosted a summer fete and garden party at her home near Flatford Mill on 11 August 2018. Friends, family and colleagues were invited to join in the fun to raise money for Macmillan nurses who have been supporting her family since her Auntie Lou was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Miss McCollin says the weather was glorious and £405.88 was raised on the day from a bake sale, tombola, lucky lollies and splat the rat. The highlight of the fundraiser was Miss McCollin braving the shave and having her hair removed in aid of the Little Princess Trust.
Miss McCollin has been overwhelmed at people’s generosity and is thrilled to announce the total raised stands at £2500. “It has been just a month since my Auntie’s diagnosis and already the Macmillan team have helped the family so much and I hope that by raising funds with this event, the Macmillan nurses will be able to help another family just like ours when they need it most. “
